Radiofrequency Microneedling for Skin Tightening

Radiofrequency microneedling combines the benefits of microneedling with radiofrequency energy, a proven non-invasive skin tightening method that delivers high intensity energy to the tissues for lifting and tightening.

Microneedling is also called collagen induction therapy. It is used for skin rejuvenation, sign tightening and the treatment of scarring. Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure performed using medical grade devices and when combined with radiofrequency energy it delivers energy inside the skin to stimulate collagen regeneration. Collagen is substance that provides structure to the skin.

Radiofrequency energy, a form of electromagnetic energy, is widely used in dermatology for various treatments due to its ability to provide controlled heating to targeted tissues. This energy is unique because it can be used to heat the deeper layers of the skin without damaging the surface layer. It can tighten and smooth the skin texture and firmness.

How does it work?

The microneedling device contains hundreds of tiny needles that gently create controlled injury to the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin formation to restore crucial proteins necessary to maintain the skin’s elasticity and firmness.  From the inside, new collagen and elastin smooth the appearance of wrinkles and scars and rejuvenates the skin removing age spots and other discolorations for smoother, firmer and even toned skin.

Simultaneously, the device emits a type of energy known as radiofrequency energy into the deeper layers of the skin. The application of radiofrequency energy deeply heats the soft tissues causing skin tightening and collagen contraction which induces a restructuring of collagen fibers and collagen development. The procedure initiates the body’s natural healing process, a key aspect of its effectiveness. The result is firmer, more youthful skin and a refreshed appearance.

The microchannels, which stay open for several hours, are a perfect vehicle for the delivery and absorption of active topical ingredients such as platelet rich plasma, topical Vitamin A and C to enhance regeneration and improve outcomes. The addition of radiofrequency heat heightens collagen remodeling to firm and tighten the skin, and for skin rejuvenation.

Radiofrequency microneedling tightens aging skin and is especially effective for skin laxity in areas on the face, neck, and décolleté, as well as the abdomen, arms and thighs. The process is designed to be minimally invasive, causing just enough disturbance in the skin to trigger the body’s natural healing response. Treatment can be tailored to the specific needs of each individual’s skin, is suitable for a wide range of skin types and recovery is relatively quick.

Ideal candidates for radiofrequency microneedling are generally those in good overall health, without active skin infections or certain skin conditions. It’s well-suited for individuals looking to improve skin texture, firmness, and appearance without undergoing more invasive surgical procedures.
